30 for 30

Day Four

Stop

Today we’re going to do a breathing prayer together. Breathing is good. We need it to be alive. Begin by taking some slow deep breaths. As you inhale, whisper these words: ‘God is here’. As you exhale whisper: ‘And I am with you’. Fix your gaze upon Him afresh this morning.

Look

Read Matthew 4. Ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you. You may want to make notes, underline in your bible or journal all that God is saying.

Thought of the day

Matthew 4:23 - "And he went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people."

Wouldn’t it have been amazing to be with Jesus during His ministry? Can you imagine how electrifying it would have been to witness the miraculous like this?

Matthew 4:23 shows that as Jesus modelled ministry, a demonstration of Kingdom power always accompanied a teaching and preaching of the Gospel.

Notice – EVERY disease and EVERY affliction bowed the knee to the Lordship of Christ. Such power and such authority.

Church – do we believe God is still on the move today? Do we believe His Kingdom is still advancing? If we confine the inbreaking of the Kingdom to the pages of this book – then we will never fulfil the remarkable call God has placed upon us. Here is the ground-breaking truth – this very same Jesus now lives in us! His authority has been delegated to humanity to extend the rule and reign of the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth.

There is a story God is writing and inviting you to be a part of it. All it takes is your Yes, and putting one foot in front of the other day by day.

Pray

‘Your Kingdom Come.’ Spend the next few moments praying for God’s Kingdom to come in our city. Amongst your friends and neighbours. On the streets. In our schools and work places and government. Let it be on earth as it is in Heaven!

Live

This week tell someone about Jesus. Share about Him. Maybe on the street or over WhatsApp, or Facebook or to a neighbour. Be bold and name-drop Jesus. You never know what conversation it may start – and what encounter it may lead to…
